5 Spots You Didn’t Know About In Las Vegas But Should

Vacations are tricky because they start off as a means to relaxation and turn into a sprint to the airport. You want to include as much as you can and before you know it you feel like you would have needed a few more days just to do what you really wanted to get done. Las Vegas is no different and one could argue that when you toss in the Las Vegas nightlife angle into your vacation itinerary it pretty much guarantees that you will not be completely satisfied with your experience when you take that taxi cab to the airport.

How can you when there are so many options when you head to Las Vegas?

You can’t, so don’t try. Instead, approach a Las Vegas vacation as if you were part of a 10 trip expedition that will slowly take in all that there is to do over the course of a few visits. You know you’ll be back so take your time and let Las Vegas evolve in your mind.

With that said, try a few of these spots that you may or may not have heard of. Since you are on a research mission to find some of the best things to do in Las Vegas I might as well help you with more options.

If you are a nightlife person you have probably heard of Hakkasan and the huge nightclub that it houses at the MGM Grand. You may not have heard that there is also a restaurant and something called the Ling Ling Lounge at Hakkasan. You should have. It has open seating in a very comfortable lounge setting and it feels like the perfect place to have a drink and a dance. It is slightly less elevated than the main room but that is precisely what makes it the place to visit.

I tell friends about Fusion at Palazzo Hotel all the time and quite often they forget to visit or can’t remember why they were supposed to look for it. Inside the Palazzo casino you’ll see a large bar surrounded by plush seating. That is not it. That is a champagne bar and it is good for sitting around and acting like you really want to spend too much money on bad sparkling wine. Instead, walk though the casino and look for a small circular bar near the guest elevator bank. You’ll notice all the infused liquor and see a few mixologists doing their thing. Put $20 in the video poker machine as the bartender approaches. Tell them what you like and ask them about what they are infusing. You’ll get an amazing drink and if you are gambling, yes, it is free. MAKE SURE YOU TIP WELL. They work real hard here.

Parasol Down at Wynn is that spot that I have been telling people about since the day the resort open. Still to this day I still see people standing near the rail looking down at the bar as if they are not welcomed. Look for the signs to Parasol Down and take the escalator down to the outdoor sitting area. Take a seat and have a drink and feel a different Las Vegas. Listen to the water, lounge in the sun and take it all in. It feels like luxury. When you are done consider Tryst or XS to keep the night going.

Happy Hour at Aureole inside the Mandalay Bay is possibly one of those great deals that nobody knows about. You take a seat below the wine tower and you sip on a fantastic glass of red wine and sample some of what they do here so well. You’ll feel like you are stealing because it feels so good.

The Hit Lounge at Monte Carlo is a small bar off to the side of the casino that you might overlook. In fact you would probably ignore it if I did not tell you about it. However, if you love yourself a good cocktail there is a good chance that you will find it very difficult to find another spot on the Las Vegas strip with a collection of talented people as good as they have working the bar.

Did I make it even harder for you to cover everything you need to see and do in Las Vegas?

I hope so.
