A St. Paddy’s Day Party in Vegas
One of Galavantier’s favorite holidays of the year is quickly approaching – a day that celebrates the great Irish heritage with green beer and corned beef hash. Saint Patrick’s Day in Las Vegas melds two worlds together including the always “on” Vegas nightlife with the highly celebratory holiday of the Irish.
Depending on where you choose to celebrate this most festive of events will determine your level of commitment to the holiday. From live bands and parades to Jameson shots and Irish breakfasts, there is going to be something for everyone.
New York New York Casino & Resort: Debuting a new Strip-front plaza outdoors, the New York New York has always thrown a decent St. Patty’s Day festival especially with their epic Irish-themed restaurant, Nine Fine Irishmen. This restaurant has the best Shepard’s Pie in town and, coupled with a sipping glass of 18-year-aged Jameson, you can’t go wrong. Beginning Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. you can find music, including bands like Sine Ri-Ra and Limey Bar Stewards, in Nine Fine Irishmen or outdoors on the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s all part of the annual Celtic Feis festival.
Fremont Street: Music, people watching, beer, and more people watching. Fremont is the perfect place to get your fill of everything Vegas along with some fantastic Irish-themed music. With a plethora of people converging downtown, there will be plenty to see and do even if you don’t participate in the madness. The St. Patrick’s Day drink specials will be available at most of the downtown bars. Check out The Beauty Bar for $5 Jameson shots as well as an 80’s-themed party or head to Hogs & Heifers to catch the parade and wheelbarrow races. Just don’t forget you can only have open containers outdoors under the Fremont canopy and you will get ticketed if you go beyond this with your beverage.
O’Sheas Block Party: Always considered an epic event with leprechauns galore, this casino shuts down the block from Saturday, March 15 at 12 p.m. and the party continues to Monday, March 17 at 12 a.m. If you need your green beer, you can find it here along with ‘adult’ balloon artists, beer pong, and prize giveaways. There will also be an open wedding at The LINQ’s outdoors patio, portable bar stations, stilt walkers and beautiful women giving away free goodies.
Ri Ra Irish Pub at Mandalay Bay: Need to get your fill on corned beef brisket, Guinness stew and Irish car bombs as a chaser? Then Ri Ra is your Irish hotspot. Not only can you get the most out of your meal here, but the pub will open at 7 a.m. in honor of the holiday. Additionally, music starts at noon with the High Stool Prophets, American Diddly Idols, and Ruaille Buaille. Wear your best Irish beer maiden or wench outfit and your green gear to avoid getting pinched by the frisky Irish clan at Ri Ra.
