Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in Full Swing
It’s the talk of the town in Vegas, which can only mean one thing: it’s that good. The massive 80,000-square-foot bowling alley meets concert venue with a splash of booze and some culinary genius is the combined basis of the Brooklyn Bowl in Sin City.
When you enter the doors, escalators and stairs initially greet you – opt for the escalators so you can enjoy the gorgeous entryway lined by concert-related artwork. A glittery disco ball hangs from the ceiling as you’re carried to the top where you will be amazed at the architectural maze of bars and rooms before you.
Get lost in the building and you’ll be greeted by smiling bartenders and chill patrons. This place gets a bit packed on Friday and Saturday evenings, but if you head in for brunch during the day you’ll have plenty of elbow room to peruse the venue.
The Brooklyn Bowl made its debut in Vegas on March 8 with musical guest Soulive. The staff opened its doors offering game-changing entertainment options all in one venue. Such options include 32 lanes of bowling, five bars, VIP lounge areas over three levels as well as a concert hall holding up to 2,000 people. Overall, the Brooklyn Bowl is a pretty sweet addition to the city that has a mini version of everything including the Eiffel Tower.
This Brooklyn Bowl, however, is definitely not the mini version of anything. In fact, it’s four times the size of its sister venue, also known as the Brooklyn Bowl but located in New York City.
You can find this substantial undertaking of a complex on the Las Vegas Strip as part of The Linq, which is an open-area shopping center with eateries and, of course, the High Roller Ferris wheel.
Some would argue that while the concert calendar is slowly building up its of top-notch headliners, the food is one of the biggest draws as of late. The food is featured from Blue Ribbon, a New York City restaurant spearheaded by brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg. While The Cosmopolitan has a taste of what the Blue Ribbon restaurant line offers with its sushi bar and grill, it doesn’t have the menu quite like what’s available at the Brooklyn Bowl.
Definitely head in for some grub at the Bowl and do not miss out on the famous fried chicken dinner seasoned with a special blend of spices, accompanied by fresh-baked bread, creamy mashed potatoes, and collard greens sprinkled with bacon and honey. Or shoot for the French bread pizza. Maybe try the Beach with pulled pork and pickled peppers or the San Gennaro with sausage, mozzarella and peppers. Just don’t fill up entirely on your entree, because their signature desserts are delectable. Go classic with a Root Beer Float or spice things up with a Bourbon St. Shake mixed with Nutella and a shot of bourbon.
After filling up on some scrumptiousness, try your hand at bowling as you lounge on plush leather couches between sets. Headed out for a game on a concert night? Then request one of the 16 lanes stage right to get a phenomenal view of the band. You're essentially bowling next to rock stars making for an incredible night of feeling like you belong in the band.
Some of the concerts you can catch include the likes of Cake, Jane’s Addiction, The Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus, and The Roots – to name a few. The rest of the lineup through August can be found here.
If you’re a local or a visitor, you have to experience the Brooklyn Bowl, which parallels that of a museum in size, but with rock ‘n’ roll to boot.
