Chowhound: Grabbing Coffee at The Venetian and The Palazzo
One of my favorite things about The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas properties being combined is that there are numerous coffee outlets. It may seem like a small thing on the surface, but finding good coffee on the Las Vegas Strip isn't as easy as it should be. The coffee that the casinos offer gamblers is not much more than colored water. Within The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas there are no less than 6 places to stop and grab a cup of coffee.
There are a total of three Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf locations spread upstairs and downstairs of both The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas. Just visit the Grand Canal Shoppes and you will be set. If you are not familiar with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, that’s okay as it started as a west coast coffee chain and is still growing. As you'd expect, their coffee is consistent chain-wide. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf has a pretty mild blend of coffee. It's the anti-Starbucks when it comes to flavor pungency. Besides coffee, each of the locations offer a nice variety of baked goods while seating may or may not be available depending on the store.
Each property has a Cafe Presse which has coffee provided by Lavazza. Lavazza coffee is available throughout the country and even as single serve in some hotel rooms. The coffee at Cafe Presse is not offensive or particularly special. With that being said, it's a decent cup of coffee and with a new location located right outside of the Sands Expo Center, it's a better option than you'll get from the conventions. Make note that if you are a member of Club Grazie (The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas players club) you will save 5% at Cafe Presse by showing your card.
The Palazzo Las Vegas is also home to the best coffee between the properties, Espressamente Illy located just off the casino floor and next to CUT by Wolfgang Puck. Like Lavazza, Illy coffee, is available throughout the country so it's not exclusive to Vegas. Their blend of Italian coffee is slightly stronger than the other options at The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas. Espressamente Illy was design by internationally renowned architect Lucca Trazzi and takes you out of the casino, hotel and mall and into a modern coffee shop atmosphere. Besides having the best cup of coffee between The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas, Espressamente Illy has the largest selection of baked goods as well as other food options including irresistible homemade gelato.
One of the standout things for me about The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas is the easy access to a wide array of good coffee options. While some casinos have opted to add a Starbucks, nowhere else has so many options to sit and drink a cup of coffee or to just grab and go with a good cup of java.
