This Weekend at Caesars Palace. You made the decision to head to Vegas for the weekend. Real quick, let’s not make this another one of those Vegas trips where you spend half the time figuring out what to do. Let’s get this right before you get to the Las Vegas strip. PURE is the destination tonight, the queen of Vegas nightclubs that still glitters up the nights at Caesars Palace. Many others have made their splashes since PURE changed the game on the Strip, but it remains a sexy sure-thing, and these days almost feels intimate.

So, you and the boys pile into a car and head to Las Vegas. Frozen burritos at a gas station and 6 guys in one hotel room? Wait…we are beyond that, right? Those were fun days, they really were, but I’ve been done with the crunchy carpet motels for about 10 years and food from a gas station that is to be heated by a dirty microwave oven is no longer an option.

Tap. Tap. Snap. Snap. Boom. Boom. Crash. Crash.

You will.

You'll raise your hands for no apparent reason and you'll practice those beat box sounds that you had long abandoned. You might squirm in your seat with a need to feel the rhythm. You'll wiggle your toes as you whistle and you'll consider experimenting with paint, PVC pipe and drum sticks.

What you don’t realize about the Golden Nugget is that it has changed so much over the years. It’s still the gem of Downtown Las Vegas but take a look around and you’ll ask yourself why you have not found the time to explore it more often. You probably have heard of the pool and the sharks but you might also want to know about the dining options and the modern rooms.

Quite often I’ll have a conversation at a Las Vegas Nightclub with a member of the opposite sex and the discussion almost always turns to what I do for a living.

“Why are you at this nightclub?”

My back swing is perfect. My follow through reminds other players of Tiger Woods. I have shiny golf clubs and plenty of balls in my bag. My only problem is that when I hit the ball I have no idea where it is headed. I can hit the ball a long way, there is no question about that, it's just that 300 yards to the right means very little when you need to hit the ball to the center.

Before you say goodbye to the holiday season get a last glimpse of the holidays in Las Vegas at the Ethel M Chocolates Cactus Garden Holiday Display. You might be ready for that trip to the keys with visions of deep sea fishing and a gentle tug on your line while you drift in the stream but the Christmas season is not over yet.

So you woke up and did not find exactly what you wanted under the tree? You know this season is more about what you give than what you receive. So, why not give yourself something very good.

What you need is a Las Vegas vacation so take a look at a few things to do in Las Vegas and treat yourself! Maybe Santa did not deliver exactly what you were looking for but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a look at a few VIP packages at a Las Vegas nightclub.

These two sister properties give you one giant Las Vegas experience regardless of which one you stay at. I like the prestige level at Palazzo but I’m fonder of the casino at the Venetian. The food choices are superb at both and the shopping is among the best on the Las Vegas strip. The properties are connected via the Grand Canal Shoppes and the pools are accesses from either hotel.

I’m the cool dad. I just thought I would get that out of the way right from the start. Right after my kids soared high above a giant fan that gave them the exhilarating feeling of free falling at Vegas Indoor Skydiving, it was clear that I could get away with way more than most parents will ever dream of. I’ll be able to wear the dolphin shorts at the beach and my kids will still acknowledge me.
