The Experience
Quite honestly this is the type of restaurant you really only visit when you are on vacation. The formula is quite simple. Serve food in decent sized portions. Serve some stiff drinks. Offer a simple beer list. Insult everyone and make sure that every single person knows that they have walked into a party that was put together by a group of pranksters.
Who You Are Taking To The Restaurant
This is the place that you head into with a large group that wants to have a large laugh. Everyone gets involved and the atmosphere is always fun even though someone will be taunted and others will be encouraged to laugh at that person. It is not mean spirited it is just the way it is done. Your server will be rude. You’ll probably wear a hat. Your group will laugh so much you’ll order a second round of drinks.
I have taken my kids in to Dick’s and they have had a good time. The staff understands how to play their role with regard to the age of the customer. If you are looking to save a little money you can actually split quite a few things and leave here happy about the total cost.
What You’ll Order
This is a spot where buckets if fried stuff rule. A bucket of wings and a bucket of shrimp work for me. They have a pretty decent loco moco. You don’t know what a loco moco is? Burger patty, rice, egg and brown gravy. Stack it and then eat it. The burger at Dick’s is pretty huge and I have a tendency to eat the entire thing but it is a split able meal. 1 burger, 2 beers and two people get out of their with a budget friendly meal.
If you want to have a little fun while eating try the Dick’s Challenge. You get 10 minutes to eat 1pound of bbq pork, 1 pound of brisket, 3 hot links on a roll with onion rings and fries. If you succeed your picture goes up on the “Wall of Fame”
