Eating in Las Vegas: Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville
The Experience
You do not have to be a parrot head to enjoy Margaritaville at Flamingo Las Vegas. It doesn’t hurt, but it is not a requirement. You do have to want to have a good time. After all, Jimmy Buffet is blasting throughout the restaurant and the frozen blended drinks are being poured at such a fast rate that you might get a contact brain freeze. Head out to the space that overlooks the Las Vegas strip and you get good people watching, fruity drinks and the good music. Don’t expect food that will blow you away but expect an atmosphere that will make you return over and over. Fun people, fun spot and relatively affordable.
Who You Are Taking To The Restaurant
This is not a date night restaurant unless your partner is really into music about sailing, drinking and sitting around thinking about drinking, sailing and doing nothing. In other words, everyone will love this place! Well, not really, the atmosphere is calm enough for the family and the loud people have fun are generally near the bar unless there is live music or it is later in the evening.
What You’ll Order
This is not full blown gourmet eating so you should know that going in. However, you can be happy with a salad or burger. The jambalaya is decent if you wash it down with a Land Shark Lager. The burger has a tendency to be very good but of course the last time I was in I was a little disappointed. It should be fine as are the fish tacos. My go to snack while having a few drinks are the volcano nachos and the chicken wings. Once again, not gourmet but good bar food.
