Eating in Las Vegas: Nine Fine Irishmen at New York New York Resort
The Experience
The best way to get a feel for Nine Fine Irishmen is to go in as the band is playng and people are raising their pints in a toast to pretty much anything. Grab your own pint and you’ll find yourself toasting the weather, the band or even just the fact that you are on vacation. The music can be loud but the atmosphere is festive. You might eat but you definitely have to have a drink and then think about memorizing one of the drinking anthems.
Who You Are Taking To The Restaurant
This by no means is your romantic date night restaurant. That is unless you want to have a real good time that centers around drinks, dancing and conversations that require very close talking. If you are here with a group of friends there is a good chance that everyone will have one too many drinks and that a few songs will be sung at the top of your lungs. You might even sway side to side with arms interlocked. What you will have is a raucous good time while enjoying a meal that is heavy on comfortable Irish food.
What You’ll Order
The food is meant to soak up the suds and it will do that. Don’t walk in and expect some light, airy salad that screams of summer. Expect dishes that posses a little history and are rooted in Irish traditions. If I’m sitting there with a pint I’m craving a steak & stout pie that is as hearty as they come. The sheppard’s pie is just as hearty but if you need your Irish fix go with the Irish Bangers. Those potatoes mixed in with the sausage will have you seeking out your best (or worse) Irish accent. You have to consider the fish and chips and not just because you are in an Irish Pub. Split them if you have to but at least try them. , with a pint, of course.
