Fashionista Fatale: How to Treat a Weekend Romance - In Las Vegas!

What happens when you get to Las Vegas and find yourself involved in a weekend romance? Not sure what I’m talking about? Well, here’s how they usually work: Get into town, hit the nightlife scene, meet a special someone, and decide to spend your weekend with them.

Because it’s no secret that these Sin City flings exist, it’s a must for me to share with you the best places to experience a “love,” Las Vegas style. You’ll want to impress your romantic interest, but don’t shell out all of the dollars you just won at the craps table.

Take heed to my advice and impress your new paramour with good conversation (I’ll help you with that too) and a keen knowledge of what’s best to fuel this thrilling love affair. As for what happens post-trip, I’m not responsible for that. If you go from text to fizzle or Facebook to fiancé is up to you...

Release Your Inner Gourmand:

You’ve already shared about a dozen cocktails together. Now start noshing like a real couple. Remember, you don’t want to overdo it, but you don’t want a nice atmosphere (no McDonald’s at Paris won’t work), super service and unfathomably delicious bites. Where do you go? I say take that stroll over to Caesars Palace Las Vegas and find yourselves a seat at Beijing Noodle Number 9. Since you two are just getting to know one another, pick a few items to share (salt and pepper chicken, crispy tofu, green onion pancake). This spot is unassuming, reasonably priced and offers unfathomably delicious bites. Order the Braised Seabass in the Sizzling Clay Pot. You two will definitely bond over this dish. House made noodles (right before your eyes, in fact), sweet house made cocktails and the restaurant’s charming design, which feels like a serene cocoon, should spark up some organic conversation.

Thou Art for Me:

You’ve both been partying since you step onto Las Vegas soil, so maybe it’s not such a bad idea to switch it up with a little art. Where do you find art in Las Vegas? It’s all over--the architecture, sculptures, street performers and so on. But if you’re on the hunt for classical art, meet your date just outside the Bellagio Las Vegas and head over to the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. It’s open Tuesday, Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and admission is only $15. After an afternoon of culture, you two can take a romantic stroll out toward the fountains. Sure you’ve both seen the water spectacular several times, but you haven’t seen it together. Marvel over the majesty and share a few stories. Then bust out your phone and take a picture. You two can remember this moment forever.

Get Back to Basics:

You started this with a cocktail in hand, why mess up a good thing? Meet up at Gold Boutique Nightclub and Lounge at ARIA Las Vegas for a couple of adventurous sips. Have some fun dancing to the music at the intimate space and try some of the bar’s specialty cocktails. Or meet up at Wynn. There you two can head down to the Parasol Bar and sip house made cocktails on the expansive deck and chat about the waterfalls, how much you love Las Vegas and your future...maybe. Do this during the day and see if your love still looks as stunning as he/she did two nights ago.
