Happy Hour in Las Vegas
I’m sitting below the wine tower as a wine angel hovers high above collecting a precious bottle of wine. I watch a little too long. If she was not so far away I would probably have already averted my eyes but in this case I continue to stare. It’s rude, I know, but I love great wine and the fact that an attractive wine Angel is scaling a tower inside a restaurant just to get my bottle is exactly why I am telling you that you need to head in to Aureole inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Happy hour at Aureole is the right time for you to go in and try a few things without having the full blown meal. Not that the entire dining experience isn’t worthy of your time. It’s just an easier way to have the experience within a collection of Las Vegas experiences.
Happy Hour is in the lounge and that is where you want to be anyway. Right under the wine tower you’ll try to figure out what cocktail fits you best. Is it the Enlightenment, the 19th hole or the The Mountie? Will you snack on the Yellowfin Tuna Poke, the Sirloin Sliders or the cheese platter? Then the wine becomes an issue because as much as you would love to have a simple glass from the happy hour menu you know you really want a full bottle from the hands of a wine angel.

Happy Hour: Monday-Saturday 5:00pm to 7:00pm
2nd Happy Hour: Monday-Saturday 9:30pm to 11:00pm
So not everybody wants wine from a wine angel? I get it. These two spots are personal favorites. You can be sure that I have tried each and every one of these spots on more than one occasion in order to make sure that you get the best possible experience. When listening to someone who is about to give you advice make sure they have struggled through the entire cocktail list as well as through all the food in order to ensure that you have a great experience. It is what I do for my readers. I sacrifice my liver and my stomach muscles. Enjoy!
American Fish at ARIA – Yes, you can revive at 5 at American Fish. I’m not sure why I would be comfortable with just happy hour but when you need something small this is beyond adequate. This is so good you’ll consider over ordering and ruining your appetite for dinner. You’ll be ordering a lobster roll, baked oysters and a seared scallop. If you want to split a sandwich go with the beer battered fish sandwich. They have a raw bar and my drink of choice here is the happy hour Tom Collins.

Happy Hour: Daily from 5-7pm
Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House at MGM Grand – Back when they had a raw bar out front this was my once a week hangout. I was here so often I felt like they were eventually going to ask me to start working the bar. I would chat up any one who would sit next to me and I was always giving advice on what to eat. A lot like I do now except no one was asking for it, I just felt the need to share. You’ll want the oysters on the half shell, minimum 6, the Crystal Fried Gulf Shrimp and a Fish House Mojito. If you have room squeeze in a crab cake.
