Right in the center of the Las Vegas strip the lights seem brighter. The atmosphere seems more energetic. Las Vegas feels a lot like, well, Las Vegas.
The Flamingo Las Vegas has the bright lights and the action spills out onto the sidewalk. This icon of the Las Vegas strip has been here since the beginning and as it evolves so does Las Vegas. Maybe it's not a high end luxury resort but it still is a great place to stay and your dollar will go a long way.
SLEEP. The Flamingo has gone through some pretty impressive renovation as of late and these days their rooms are looking on par with the rest of the Las Vegas strip. Most people enjoy the look of the GO rooms with all the amenities you would expect from a moderate Las Vegas hotel. I personally love the look of the FAB rooms. It feels like the loft I never lived in and the lack of carpets makes me feel grown up. I know it makes no sense but the modern look is very un-Vegas. I like it.
EAT. Center Cut is the steakhouse that surprises you with lower prices and the quality usually reserved for the fancier places on the strip. If you are craving a good steak in a great atmosphere you’ll visit more than once. If you’re looking for a happier location to celebrate your Las Vegas vacation Flamingo has two of the best options available.
Carlos 'n Charlie’s and Margaritaville define having a good time in their own special way. The Parrothead in you will sing out loud to Jimmy Buffet at Margaritaville while the eternal Spring Break party continues at Carlos ‘n Charlie’s.
EXPERIENCE. The pool experience at Flamingo Las Vegas is worth a visit alone for two the simple reason that they actually separate the crazies from the families. Listen, I love getting wild but I don’t want a kid splashing in my drink. The GO pool allows me the convenience of having a wild time without feeling odd about the kids playing Marco Polo near my mojito. When I bring my family in I don’t have to worry about my 8 year old asking me questions about body shots. The water slides make my boys and the cabanas surrounding the pool are perfect for a family day at the pool.
SEE. If you have not seen Donny and Marie you might be shocked at how much you enjoy the show. If you have you’ll see so many return visitors that you won’t feel weird about gawking at how good Marie looks and wondering if Donny would like to have drinks together. They still put on an entertaining show and they really seem like a couple of people that you would love to hang out with in the backyard. If you decide you want to laugh you’ll choose George Wallace and then you’ll be laugh until you cannot laugh anymore. This guy will give you your money’s worth and then a little more. Once he starts he doesn’t stop so get in a bathroom break before the show starts.
