Mariah Carey Residency Officially Announced
Mariah Carey is headed to Las Vegas and this time it's not be just for a fun vacation. Following in the direction of many of pop stars like Britney Spears, it has been rumored and speculated that Carey could sign a deal in the infamous Sin City. Jennifer Lopez was also rumored to be competing for the same deal with Carey. However, E! News confirmed that Mariah is going to get the multi-million dollar residency deal at Ceasars Palace and their Colosseum theater.
Just like Spears, Carey may need Las Vegas to help revamp her career as it has come to a screeching halt, according to several news sources. She told one source she needs the stability of a show rather than touring in various cities. At the risk of fading away like numerous pop stars before her, she attempted to catch the attention of her fans with a new album, “Me. I Am Mariah.” Although that plan quickly failed, making her to seem like a desperate, hot mess. She did not exactly please her fans as she once did with proof in the pudding as she only sold 125,000 copies in the U.S.
The media seems to have everyone’s attention focused on something else… her relationship with soon-to-be ex hubby, Nick Cannon. After years of breakup rumors the two have confirmed their divorce is in progress. The couple suggests to media sources they are happy and cheerful over the holidays with family photos but now it looks like an act as the break up was confirmed just days after Christmas.
This mom was once known as the hottest pop artist out there. Instead of the typical new hair after a break up, she’s going for a whole new city. Maybe Carey will make Las Vegas her own selling out shows every night. We will just have to wait and see what happens next.
In the meantime, check out some of the other Vegas shows that you can see right now.
