Nightlife Junkie: Electric Daisy Carnival Week of Events
The roar of the engines normally heard at Las Vegas Motor Speedway couldn’t match the sound that will come out of the racetrack beginning June 8 when the Electric Daisy Carnival comes to town. The festival returns to the desert for the second time in a three-day event that is already sold out! If you can’t wait to break your glow sticks or missed out on tickets, don’t fret. Many of the same DJs that will headline the main event will hit the hottest nightclubs in Las Vegas before and during EDC to fill the void.
Tuesday, June 5
Dutch DJ sensation Dash Berlin brings his progressive-trance music to Lavo Nightclub inside The Palazzo Las Vegas to kick off EDC Week.
Wednesday, June 6
Former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is the keynote speaker for the first EDMbiz Conference, which will feature some of the top artists, managers, agents and more in an insightful discussion about the business of electronic dance music, at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Vegas veteran Chuckie comes to Lavo Nightclub as Tao Nightclub’s sister club keeps the early EDC party going.
Wynn Music Week gets off to a banging start with international sensation Alesso spinning at Surrender Nightclub at Encore Las Vegas.
Thursday, June 7
The EC Twins and Steve Castro bring the party to the daytime at Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The second day of the EDMbiz Conference continues just around the corner with a free pool party at the Boulevard Pool with Jason Bentley, Miguel Migs and more on the turntables.
The walls of The Orleans Arena will be knocking from 7 p.m.-4 a.m. with Bassrush Massive where nine DJs will take the stage for hour-long sets.
German trance DJ ATB takes over Tao Nightclub at The Venetian Las Vegas along with Dash Berlin. The party continues next door at The Palazzo Las Vegas where Hardwell will set the tone at Lavo Nightclub with his unique remixes.
Benny Bennasi returns to Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas where the Italian DJ and producer will bring his friends along for a night of house music.
Wynn Music Week welcomes the Bingo Players at Surrender Nightclub at Encore Las Vegas.
The after party moves to Drai’s After Hours inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon with Richie Hawtin, who pioneered minimal techno in the 1990s and is a regular in Detroit’s dance music scene.
Friday, June 8
With EDC just hours away, get your afternoon started with a pool party at Encore Beach Club where Calvin Harris will drop the beats to kickstart your weekend pool party in Vegas.
Rated the second-best DJ in the world last year, Armin van Buuren hits the DJ booth at Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Once Kanye West’s personal DJ, A-Trak brings his diverse beats to Lavo Nightclub, while Fedde le Grand spins at Tao Nightclub where Nicky Romero will control the turntables during the daytime at Tao Beach.
Wynn Music Week continues at XS Las Vegas where Sebastian Ingrosso steps up to spin the soundtrack of the evening. At Surrender Nightclub, Steve Aoki mans the decks for his monthly party, Aoki’s House.
Drai’s After Hours closes the party again with Sasha, whose lengthy career keeps turning as he mixes electronic music genres. Sasha was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2004 for his remix of Felix da Housecat’s “Watching Cars Go By.”
Saturday, June 9
The daytime celebration starts at Tao Beach at The Venetian Las Vegas where German trance duo Cosmic Gate will spin its subtle party beats under the sun. Vegas regular Dirty South hits the DJ booth at Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and will bring his friends along to keep the beats going all day.
One third of Swedish House Mafia and EDC headliner, Steve Angello takes his talents to Encore Beach Club for a wild day of music in the sunshine and pool party palooza.
Superstar DJ, Calvin Harris brings the beats to Surrender Nightclub at Encore Las Vegas to round out Wynn Music Week while over at XS Nightclub, Size Matters with Steve Angello and friends will have the dance floor bumping until the sun rises.
Columbian-born Erick Morillo returns to Tao Nightclub at The Venetian where he has made a second home over the last half dozen years, including a 10-hour set last year in celebration of his 10th show.
Kaskade has become a Las Vegas favorite and continues his residency at Marquee Nightclub. Avicii and Gareth Emery will start the party off outside during the daytime at Marquee Dayclub.
British house DJ Carl Cox shuts the party down at Drai’s After Hours.
Sunday, June 10
The one and only, Tiesto, gets the daylife cracking as he takes over the turntables for a pool party soiree at Encore Beach Club.
DJ Vice has proven to be an eclectic DJ during his long run as resident DJ at Lavo Nightclub. He can spin anything from EDM to hip-hop and always packs a punch during Vice Sundays inside The Palazzo Las Vegas.
As EDC comes to a close, the party shines poolside with Grammy-nominated DJ Danny Tenaglia at Marquee Dayclub along with Markus Shulz and Ferry Corsten at Tao Beach.
Loco Dice, who started off as a hip-hop DJ, brings his house beats to Drai’s After Hours for the final late-night party of EDC Week.
Monday, June 6
The party rocks one last time with Red Foo of LMFAO and Chuckie at Marquee Nightclub for the final off-the-track performance of EDM.
