Nightlife Junkie: NYE Most Bang for Your Buck!

With so many things to do on New Years Eve, a local may feel overwhelmed, lost and confused or simply inundated with what to do, and where to go on the big night. For those who want nothing to do with the hustle and bustle of the Strip, we've prepared a guide for you encompassing the top things to do and places to be come New Years Eve. For everyone though that does want to enjoy everything the Strip has to offer, but without the high price tags, we're including a few things you can check out that won't necessarily break the bank.

For some, there's nothing better than spending the night comfortably with friends and family in the burbs, but no matter what you do make sure to be responsible and safe. The American Automobile Association is again offering free towing and a ride home between the hours of 6pm Saturday, December 31st – 6am on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

You do not have to have a AAA membership to use this service on New Years Eve, just call the AAA Tipsy Tow phone number at 1-800-222-4537 (1-800-AAA-Help) and ask for Tipsy Tow. A tow truck will be sent out and you, along with your car, will be taken straight to your home. If you have friends with you, the driver will take along as many passengers that can fit safely in the truck.

Las Vegas Blvd

  •   For $40, a ticket gets you in to the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan to watch and listen to Stevie Wonder’s New Year’s Eve performance live on the property’s 65’ digital marquee. The digital marquee will feature a live feed of various opening acts from 10:00PM to 11:30PM followed by legendary artist, songwriter, musician and producer Stevie Wonder until approximately 2:00AM. If that doesn't do it for you then the the view of the fireworks will surely blow you away!
  • Taking over the entire Hard Rock Hotel & Casino property, Absolution is a great alternative to ring in 2012 off the Strip, while still being close enough take it all in. Feature acts such as Guns N Roses, Drake, Robbie Rivera and more, no matter what you're looking for, you'l be sure to find it.
  • End 2012 on a wile note at Mandalay Bay's Resort Wide Block Party. No matter where you go, $47 gets you in and around the entire resort.
  • Throughout both the Venetian  & Palazzo Las Vegas, $100 buys you an open bar from 10PM - 2AM featuring select premium liquor, sparkling wine, Red Bull and domestic beer.
  • For a more eclectic scene, check out Collective Zoo's Downtown Block Party taking place at Party at Bar, Bistro at the Arts Factory and Artifice. Featuring a handful of local talent, as well as some of the best food in town, this is a party that's not to be missed.

North West

  • The Alienate offers two ways to party, ETA Lounge features a a more current musical offering with a live DJ and go-go dancers while the Access Showroom features the classic sounds of Journey with DSB.

Summerlin

  • For a real chance of pace, check out the Suncoast with their NYE Bingo, doors opening at 8PM with the games starting at 9:30PM with free champagne and daubers for all players. Also available
  • If you're closer to Red Rock, make your way out to the Rocks Lounge where you can enjoy some live music by Franky Perez, however if you're in the mood to dance, check out Lucky Bar where a live DJ will be spinning the latest top 40 all night. For some Latin dance and soul music, head on over to Onyx Bar and get your groove on.

South West

  • "Skip The Strip" this New Years Eve and spend it at the Silverton with $10 all-you-can-drink domestic drafts, well cocktails, wine and sparkling wine at all casino bars as well as food specials at Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge and Shady Grove Lounge

Green Valley Ranch

  • With multiple options to choose from, you'll be sure to spend the remaining hours of 2011 the way you want to be. Choices include the Lobby Bar, Ovation and Quinn's Irish Pub all featuring live music, and drink specials to ensure you keep your glass full 'til the party stops.
