Palms Casino Resort
Don’t judge me because I really enjoy the Barbie Suite. There is something about the pink pillows that makes everything better for me. Do judge me when I tell you that I almost missed my son’s birthday party because the Kingpin Suite had a hold on me and my lack of ability to pick up the 7 – 10 split. Be careful, the Palms Casino Resort can and will distract you into believing that Las Vegas is one non-stop party. However, there is a little something different at the Palms that you don’t find on the strip. There is a local flare. It’s hard to pinpoint but it feels more personal.
Sleep. The themed suites with their bowling alleys, pool tables and whirlpool bath tubs are the recipe for a coma inducing Las Vegas vacation. If you choose to use the shower that just so happens to have that large window in front of the bar make sure to “bring it.” Nobody likes a lazy performance. The Palms has recently had a full blown renovation and you’ll now find new, modern rooms with all the latest gadgets that make guests happy. Personally, the facelift has given rise to a transformation from a party hotel to a place where I could recover from the daily grind.
Eat. People will tell you that the view at Alize makes it worth a visit and it is impressive but the food at NOVE, from the tomato soup to the classics like Carbonara and Marinara will have you doing the seated shoulder dance in your booth. You will need to contain yourself, it is just food. Heraea will confuse you with its casual concept yet trendy vibe. It’s a sports bar, lounge and restaurant all wrapped up into a fancy space that gives new meaning to the touchdown dance. Need casual food that saves you some cash? The eatery is the fancy name for the food court that helps you get the quick bite when you just want to make sure you get in the calories that keep you going for the rest of the party.
Relax. You can hardly relax at the pool at the Palms but really when you have the DJ working the tables, the cocktails arriving with regularity and the party atmosphere why would you want to? You can always walk over to Palms Place and get a body treatment at Drift Spa. If you really want to embrace relaxation try the Hammam. You’ll never look at a bath the same way again.
Dance. You should try to take a nap because the pool will get you going during the day but your nights will be filled with the action at Ghostbar. The view of the Las Vegas strip makes you feel invincible and if at that point you head to Rain Nightclub there is high probability that you’ll be passed out with drool on your face when you need to have your game face on. Head to the casino floor to have a drink at Social, the new center bar, and feel the energy of the casino as your work on your mingling skills.
The Palms still feels like a party hotel on the weekends and with such you have to understand that the clientele is younger and far more willing to take their Las Vegas party vacation to the next level. If that is what you seek out you’ll be extremely pleased with the scene.
