Pride Week Events
Hey, Vegas! Are you ready to show off your PRIDE? That’s right. Pride Week is here and there are a bunch of exciting things happening around town. It’s time to show your support and celebrate in the name of love and diversity. Clear your schedules and head over to Downtown Las Vegas on Sept. 18 for the Annual Pride Night Parade. The pre-show for the parade kicks off at 7 pm at the Main Stage on Bridger Avenue. Immediately following the pre-show, the parade begins at 8 pm on West Charleston Blvd. and heads north along 4th Street to Ogden Avenue. (Click here to see the parade route.)
Parades are always fun. But parades with glitter, glamour and the gay community? Even better! The Pride Night Parade features entertainment from members of the gay and straight business community, nonprofit organizations, LGBT service agencies, civic groups, churches and more.
Luckily, the party doesn’t end with the parade. After a night of getting crazy at Parade Night, you’ll appreciate being able to chill at the Las Vegas Pride Festival the next day. You can find the Pride Festival at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater on Sept. 19. Tickets are just $15 for adults, $10 for youth (13-20) and free for children. On top of that, a free shuttle service to and from the Gold Parking Lot at the World Market Center will be provided.
The entertainment lineup for the festival includes more than 100 exhibitors, featured performers and local talent, such as Jessica Sutta (former Pussycat Doll), David Hernandez (former American Idol finalist) and Blake McIver (cast member of “The Little Rascals” and “Full House.”) If you get hungry or thirsty while you’re there, you can just hit up one of the many food and drink options at the food court. Because this is Vegas, there’s obviously no shortage of alcohol. You can get your mixed drinks, wine, Bud and Bud Light from bartenders representing local LGBT bars at the festival.
Although the parade and festival will give you a ton of time to celebrate Pride Week, you don’t want to miss out on all the other fun things going on. The parade will be preceded by a pre-party and followed by a variety of after parties. The Pride Festival also has its own after party.
