Quick Guide To Hollywood Style Bars & Lounges in Vegas
If you're looking to sip your cocktails in a Vegas lounge that makes people glance over at you like, "Woah, who is that? I know they're famous, I just can't put my finger on it..." then there is no shortage of options. A glamorous, retro Hollywood-style bar is an easy find, but we have lined up the best in the city.
The Barrymore
Definitely topping the list of where you can feel the most like a retro-glam movie star, The Barrymore is a favorite for anyone who loves quality cocktails and stellar food. The restaurant is located within the Royal Resort on Convention Center Drive, which is a pretty cool place to hangout before or after your cocktails since they have foosball, pool and other diversions to entertain you. The film influence is immediately apparent when you walk inside and find yourself underneath a ceiling made entirely of old, illuminated film reels.
1923 Bourbon & Burlesque
You've got to love a bar where you can get your drinks amidst live performances by burlesque dancers, musicians and some of the best bartenders around. 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque can be found hidden within Mandalay Bay near the House of Blues. It's not easily visible, thus the adventurous speakeasy theme, so just approach the barkeep and they'll escort you toward the entrance. Touting themselves with some of the most talented and friendliest bartenders around, you'll want to hang around this speakeasy all night long to plan your new career in the performance industries.
Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan
I've yet to see a single photo that can display the entirety of The Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan, but it's probably not even possible, given it is three stories of glittering crystals, draped through the center of the hotel's entrance. The Chandelier Bar is really three bars in one, with the bottom level providing a high-energy feel with live entertainment on most weekend nights. The performances are usually delightful throwbacks and jazzy productions, contributing to that glamorous ambiance. The second and top levels offer similar yet unique feels, so just wander up and down the stairs or elevator to pull a Goldilocks and see which floor matches you best.
Mob Bar at Downtown Grand
Although Old Hollywood's "mob" was more like directors, producers and film juggernauts ruling the silver screen, Vegas' mob was just that. The Mob. Still, The Mob Bar inside Downtown Grand is undoubtedly old fashioned and enchanting with their deep red leather couches, armchairs and all-around swank factor. I must have drank a half dozen Manhattans and Sidecars in here when they had their live band performing jazz covers of everyone's favorite hit songs. You can catch The Witness Protection Program performing from 8 p.m. till midnight on Friday nights, and Dueling Pianos from 8 p.m. till midnight on Saturdays.
Sayers Club at SLS
It's easy to feel quite alluring when you're sitting stylishly on a leather-tufted couch in one of Vegas' hottest new hotels on The Strip, especially right after walking down hallways carpeted with images of The Rat Pack and photos of Marilyn Monroe and other starlets hanging around. Welcome to The Sayers Club. A perfect blend of polished decor and raw, industrial touches, this club has an amazing sound system which is going to be blasting live music every night. The lounge atmosphere turns into a nightclub on Thursdays thru Sundays, so it really has the best of both worlds for you night owls.
