Red Rock Casino/Resort/Spa
If you had to getaway from your getaway this is where you would go. Imagine saving yourself from yourself and then you can imagine what Red Rock does for you. I need the sun, the action and I need the food in Las Vegas but I don’t always need all the crowds or the traffic or the prices. I can almost have my cake and eat it too. That is the draw at Red Rock Casino because you can just about have your perfect Las Vegas vacation with out having the little things that bother you about Las Vegas around.
Sleep. The entire hotel feels like an updated version of the spots that the Rat Pack made famous in Palm Springs and Las Vegas. It has a sense of desert cool mixed with the modern touches of Las Vegas today. You will not want for much as these rooms rival most on the strip and the views of the rocks at sunset are stunning. I’m always a fan of the deep soaking tub and the armchairs instead of couches that are in the room.
Eat. Yes, you can eat here but I’m more impressed with the many choices for a drink. Live music and a drink at Rocks Lounge, dancing and a drink at Cherry Nightclub and take advantage of the great lighting at Onyx bar with a drink. When I say great lighting let me just say that I look very young there. If you really need to eat T-bones is doing up an above average steak while the Yard House has the impressive beer selections. For me it is always s about burgers and dogs so a Pinks dong works any time of the day and the burgers at LBS are among the best in town.
Relax. The Spa is impressive and really is one of the gems of the city. Spend and a day or two getting a treatment, working out in the fitness center or just sitting in a sauna. Go in a get a Red Rock Rap and leave with a new layer of skin and a sense of relaxation that will force you to slow it down. Add in a facial and you’ll look and feel a few years younger after a long spa day.
Play. What can I say, I’m a rock geek. Get me up close to sandstone and I’ll talk about cross laminations and turbidity currents. Red Rock Resort gets me closer to mountain bike trails, rock climbing and endless trails of Red Rock Canyon to feed my addiction for the outdoors. The spa even has an adventure spa resort program that will get you out into the great outdoors.
Red Rock Resort is an off strip property so you’ll will not have the luxury off walking to a nearby property to increase your dining and entertainment options. However, that is also a plus because you will not be burdened with the never ending flow of tourists walking around the casino.
