Relieve Yourself Of Holiday Stress With A Cocktail In Las Vegas
The stress of the holidays usually involves in–laws and spending way too much money on other people. Yes, I understand that it is better to give than to receive but what if you spent a little more time on you than on “them” this year.
Yeah, I know it’s not socially acceptable.
Okay, since we can’t ignore the usual holiday shenanigans we can learn to cope with them. Personally, I hide in a corner with a drink and some good food. There is no need to hide. You can find plenty of places to grab a drink and a quick bite to help you smile during the big holiday meals. Of course, if you just blew off the entire ordeal and left everyone at home while you went to the Las Vegas strip that would probably solve all you problems quite quick.
You could choose to hit a popular bar such as the Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan and who would blame with you with their great cocktail program and impressive setting but let’s try a few places that you may not have tried. At the Cosmopolitan you could sit down at the Vesper Bar near the lobby and have a cocktail that is cared for like you would care for a newborn. They like what they do here and it shows.
Off the strip try the Scarlet Room at Palms where the tiny room holds 4 comfortably but the cocktails could fill a giant space. I like Social the huge bar in the middle of the casino but this intimate spot has personality.
If you need a little snack in the middle of the day walk into Carnevino at Palazzo and find a seat at the bar and check out their Taverna menu. Yeah, the cocktails are good but the beef program is better. Go ahead stuff yourself while forgetting about all the people you are ignoring during the holiday season.
Another favorite spot for a drink and a snack is Rao’s at Caesars Palace. Why? The meatball is the reason you’ll spend a little extra time here. Ask for some bread and stuff that piece of meat candy in the roll and you have you very own meatball sandwich with a cocktail.
If you you need a spot to unwind and sit with a cocktail and your thoughts then you head over to Bar Vdara at Vdara in CityCenter. This spot feels grown up. It is right on the Las Vegas strip but it feels like it could be in the lobby of a luxury hotel in the middle of Vancouver. It just feels right.
My last suggestion for a spot to get away for a drink during the holiday madness is really a place that you have to take someone else to as well. Convince someone to leave the family gathering and head up to the Level 107 Lounge at the Stratosphere Tower. The views are outrageous and the food options are almost as good as the drink specials. Happy hour seems to last all night.
This holiday season treat yourself a little better.
