Snoop Dogg Headlines The Rock 'N' Roll Marathon
It is one of the oldest annual marathons in the U.S. – having begun in 1967. Today, it has become an entire weekend of rocking good fun on and around the Strip. The event is highly focused on health and fitness with live music, running and a bit of partying tossed into the mix.
This year the marathon weekend, slated for November 14 – 16, has Snoop Dogg as its main headliner for its concert event on Sunday. Amping it up a notch with Snoop is sure to add an element of awesomeness to this already amazing event.
The marathon weekend is open to all levels of runners and benefits the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Runners can choose from the marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), and 5K (3.1 miles). The marathon and half marathon begin on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. while the 5K is on Saturday night at 6 p.m. Runners will get to take a jaunt down the Strip during a portion of their run.
The Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon, or Rock ‘N’ Roll Run as it is also called, allows runners to get dressed in tutus, crazy costumes (including many Elvis impersonators) and other gear to show Vegas just what they’re made of.
During the day on Friday and Saturday, runners can attend the Health & Fitness Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. On Friday night, the official party kicks off at Tao Nightclub where all runners receive free admission and open bar from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday night at Lavo Lounge, runners will also receive free admission and open bar from 11 p.m. to midnight.
