This city is in a content state of flux. We shutter venues and buildings left and right then revel in the excitement of a newcomer, poised to deliver judgement about all faults and strengths since we're all self-proclaimed experts. And maybe we are. If experience brings us wisdom, then perhaps Vegas can be the perfect judge of character, business and uniqueness.
No matter where you may end up in Las Vegas, odds are you won’t be more than 10 minutes from a casino. Almost every hotel, gas station and even our airport attempt to entice you into throwing down a few bucks and hitting it big. With so many choices and so little time (visitors should definitely work on that last part), where should you go to bring home the major jackpot?
Since we are talking golf we should mention that next month the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational is going on at Shadow Creek Golf Course. The tournament is hosted by Aria Resort and casino and has a huge list of celebrities that try to tame the beast that is Shadow Creek.
When CityCenter opened its doors on the Las Vegas strip the Las Vegas visitor was welcomed to a new Las Vegas. Everything was bright and shiny and the expanse of land that once housed the Boardwalk casino was now a focal point for a luxurious and upscale vacation. Walk off the Las Vegas strip and as you walk by the Crystals Shopping Center and gaze high up at the Mandarin Oriental you’ll notice the dominant tower that is ARIA Resort. Look around you’ll probably notice a tram moving over your head and sculptures tucked away in spots on the property. This is not your typical Las Vegas.
If you sit next to the giant wood sculpture on the back wall keep in mind that some really talented guy with a chainsaw sat in front of a giant chunk of wood and made this. Pay tribute by taking way too many pictures and sharing them with all of your friends. Yes, it looks a little freaky but it must be appreciated.
When it comes to clubbing, there are countless options in Las Vegas but to feel the pulse of the nightlife scene at the heart of the strip is Haze Nightclub inside Aria Resort and Casino at CityCenter. At Haze, it’s a 25,500-square-foot adult playground that will encapsulate your memory into a fog of vague recollections of excitement and debauchery. Just announced, Zarkana, the Cirque du Soleil show that has been enjoyed by over 1 million spectators in New York, Madrid and Moscow is coming to Las Vegas. The show which will appear at ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter Las Vegas will take the place of Viva ELVIS which is located on the second floor of the resort. The first public performance of Zarkana is scheduled to be held on October 25.
