The Insider: Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Las Vegas
It’s that time once again, St. Patrick’s Day and if you find yourself coming to Las Vegas you are in store for one gigantic party as celebrations will be happening all over The Strip and green beer will be flowing. As St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday, the party will start early and last all night long. While there are numerous parties and places to celebrate on the Las Vegas Strip, here’s a list of some top tier happenings you are going to want to experience. Added bonus, March Madness will be in a full court press too.
O’Shea’s Casino
Before they shutter their doors to make way for the Linq, visit O’Shea’s for a true Irish experience and the final Block Party. The event kicks off at noon as Lucky gets a beer pong rematch against Holly Madison, who looks to prove that last year's victory was no fluke. Live music runs throughout the day:
1-4pm: Joshua Tree, 5-8pm: Limey Bar, 9pm-mid: Sin City Sinners. The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas
The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Las Vegas are inviting the public to its lively 5 Leaf Bar Hop experience. A pass to the bar hop will include 5 drink tickets for Irish-inspired beverages including a Guinness draught, a shot of Jagermeister, a Sparkling Shamrock, an Irish Car Bomb and a Dancing Leprechaun. The special pass is available at Laguana Champagne Bar, Fusion Mixology Bar, Oculus Bar, Salute Lounge and Venetian Race and Sports Book. Cost is $30, plus tax. The bar hop is taking place 10 a.m. March 10 through 2 a.m. March 18.
Ri Ra Las Vegas at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place Las Vegas
Ri Ra Las Vegas will celebrate its one-year anniversary over St. Patrick's Day weekend. Festivities will include live music, giveaways, Irish dancers, authentic Irish menu items and a parade through Mandalay Bay. The fun will begin at 6 p.m. March 16. There will be a viewing party for the Six Nations Rugby match between Ireland and England at 10 a.m. March 17 followed by the parade. Guests will enjoy live Irish music from several bands during both days of the festival including Gallowglass, a five-piece band from Saint Austell, Ireland, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones, Emish and Celtic Connection. General admission is $10 on Saturday.
New York-New York Hotel & Casino Las Vegas
New York-New York will celebrate Celtic Feis, a traditional Gaelic arts and cultural festival, inside Nine Fine Irishmen and on the Brooklyn Bridge March 16 through March 18. The St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Feis Parade will commence at noon March 17 featuring bagpipers from Desert Sky Pipe Band and firefighters from around the country. Inside Nine Fine Irishmen, the festival will continue with live entertainment and a special menu of authentic Irish fare including Shepherd’s Pie, corned beef sandwiches and fish & chips. Throughout the holiday weekend, guests may enjoy entertainment by Patrick Seiben, Sin É Rí - Ra, Limey Bar Stewards, Joshua Tree and Michael Bowman. Tickets to the St. Patrick’s Day festival are $25 and include admission to the day’s events and one complimentary drink.
