The Insider: Your Guide to Las Vegas Sportsbooks

Football season is in full stride and this is the busiest time of the year at Las Vegas sportsbooks. Besides wagering on the games, the sportsbooks are great place for watching the games. The camaraderie found in the sportsbook is rarely found anywhere else whether the guy next to you is a fan of the same team or not.

Sportsbooks can be the best bargain in the casino since you don't have to spend money to watch the games. With that being said, you'll want to arrive early before the games to secure seating.

Here are some of the best sportsbooks for you to watch the games:

The Venetian Las Vegas - This is one of the newest sportsbooks on the Las Vegas strip and it has the huge HD screens to prove it. Large screens aren't all that make The Venetian sportsbook a great place to watch the games. The Venetian sportsbook is lit as it's a movie theater to enhance the viewing experience. There is plenty of seating with outlets to keep your phones charged.

Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo Las Vegas - Lagasse's Stadium is not your traditional sportsbook. Lagasse's Stadium has stadium seating, couches, over 100 TV's, mini casino, food and special skyboxes to rent out for large parties. The demand at Lagasse's Stadium is so high that reservations are recommended. On especially busy days there will be a minimum charge per person in your party.

Red Rock Resort - If you're looking to get away from the tourists on the Las Vegas Strip then the sportsbook at Red Rock Resort should fill your sportsbook needs. Red Rock Resort is located about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and the crowd at the sportsbook is mostly people that live in Las Vegas. The sportsbook is large and has some of the biggest TV screens you'll find in Las Vegas to watch the games. There's also a separate bar area and restaurant where you can sit and watch the games.

Golden Nugget - If you're in downtown Las Vegas you don't have many sportsbook options and the Golden Nugget has the most recently renovated sportsbook for you. There is a TV wall that will cover all of the games. It's positioned so that you to watch every game while keeping your attention away from the action in the casino. There is booth and race desks for you to choose to sit.

Bellagio Las Vegas - This sportsbook is simple and classy in typical Bellagio fashion. Most important, Bellagio had brand new TV screens put in just in time for football season. This isn't the largest sportsbook on the strip, but it's one of the most comfortable. The sportsbook is flanked by the poker room and a bar in case you're in the mood to step away from the games.

Mirage Las Vegas - The Mirage sportbook is the granddaddy of the Las Vegas Strip sportsbooks. It's appeared in quite a few movies. While the TV's could use some updating there is a nice variety of seating and it's plentiful. You can choose anything from a lounge chair, a couch, a chair at a race station or even a table and chairs if you grab a bite to go from California Pizza Kitchen or Carnegie Deli.

The Cosmopolitan/Tropicana/Hard Rock Hotel/ Palms Casino Resort- These sportsbooks have all been remodeled/opened in the past couple years by Cantor Gaming and offer new HD screens similar to The Venetian. The Tropicana sportsbook matches The Venetian in size, but the others are smaller sportsbooks and have seating and screen sizes to match. The Cosmopolitan offers overflow seating at the Book & Stage on the main floor while the Palms sportsbook offers easy access from the parking lot if you just want to pop in and out.
