The Late Night Feast on Fremont East
When you’re out and about on Fremont East checking out the collection of quirky, fun bars, you’re bound to work up an alcohol-induced appetite. As Fremont East gains notoriety among hipsters and Vegas patrons alike, it also gains scrumptious eateries. Here’s a quick-hit list of places to round out your night.
La Comida
Tucked away on a side street off of Fremont East, is La Comida. With Day of the Dead decorations and a swing at the bar, it’s a distinctive Mexican restaurant that serves family-style rice and beans with your chosen entrée. The mole sauce is crazy good and the margaritas are not your average sweet and sour mix either. Try the Blood Orange Margarita, or for a real twist on things order the El Diablo cocktail. This libation is a spicy concoction with pineapple juice infused and a tastebud tingling experience.
Le Thai
It’s not uncommon to see a lengthy line outside of Le Thai. It’s a cozy, little spot that serves up some bomb ass Thai food. Entrees like Short Rib Fried Rice and Pad Thai grace the menu, but definitely try the Mango Sticky Rice for a sweet treat. You can also find a pretty decent Happy Hour menu, weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. When the weather is nice, they have a cute outdoor patio as well.
Carson Kitchen
A relative newcomer to the area, having opened only a few weeks ago, Carson Kitchen features the culinary genius of local celebrity chef Kerry Simon in a gastro pub ambiance. Find creative items on the menu like pancetta and caviar-topped Devil’s Eggs, Veal Meatballs, Black Bean Sliders with goats cheese, Cocoa-Espresso NY Strip Steak, and Duck Confit Flat Bread.
Park
A great eatery with a side and rear patio to enjoy the Vegas summer nights on, Park is good. Okay, not just good, but really good. Fried Chicken and Waffle Sandwich with a side of tater tots or Philly Mac And Cheese Steak sandwiches are just a few items that make this joint delicious. If you stay downtown long enough during your night out, they have an amazing, yet small, brunch menu on the weekends.
