Upping The Ante At Monte Carlo Las Vegas
The Monte Carlo Resort & Casino opened its doors in 1996 and just recently underwent a huge revamp this past year. As such, it's important that you know what the must-see's are when you plan your next visit since things have changed a bit and we want your trip to be as on-point as possible.
Double Barrel Roadhouse
It's hard not to immediately think of Patrick Swayze's zen-like life lessons in the movie Roadhouse as soon as I type up that title, but Double Barrel Roadhouse really is a great way to spend your night. The stage allows for some amazing live music to be played and there are a few bands that tour through here pretty frequently. Spend your Thirsty Thursdays here to get in on some beer pong, flip cup, pool and air hockey games, plus they might break out some hula hoops if you're lucky. The menu is worth visiting as well, especially to soak up all that booze you're putting in there. Top off the night by having the "DB Girls" set you up with a 2-story beer bong from up in the rafters and everyone will know for sure that you're the life of the party.
Diablo's Cantina
We're sure you've seen Diablo's Cantina when driving down the Vegas Strip. I mean, how can you miss their giant, scantily-clad devil woman reigning over all of the Strip's debauchery? Regardless, there are two things I seriously love about Diablo's: Their rooftop bar and their fish tacos. (What else do you need in life?) More specifically, I love taking shots and dancing around on their rooftop and ferociously scarfing down their fish tacos. The whole menu is awesome, touting Mexican favorites and tequila galore. If you're feeling a bit rambunctious, leave your night to fate by spinning Diablo's Wheel O' Sin, which spins Happy Hour into deals on shots, beer, and margaritas. You'll almost always find a group of bachelors or bachelorettes inside Diablo's Cantina, and for good reason. This spot is perfectly center-Strip, has an awesome selection of booze and provides a super-fun atmosphere that primes your night for tequila-filled mischief.
Hotel 32
Back in 2008, poor Monte Carlo caught fire on their top floor and there was a lot of serious water and fire damage done to that upper tier of rooms. Cleverly, Monte Carlo made lemonade out of that negative situation, renovated that floor and now has an exclusive, boutique-style set of rooms right on the top of their property called Hotel 32. Staying in these gorgeous rooms gives you access to a slew of Hotel 32-only amenities, like access to Lounge 32 overlooking CityCenter and some amazing cocktails and snacks from their attentive staff. During a private tour of their Penthouse suite, we were able to fit a dozen people into just their shower, if that gives you any idea of these rooms' party potential.
The Pub
I can't in good conscience mention my favorite places in Monte Carlo without talking about The Pub. For all those who enjoy a good pint from an endless list of brews, this is your spot. I have a good friend who is obsessed with micro-brews and this is likely the spot you will find him in talking to the knowledgable bartenders. The display behind the bar gives you an idea of how many kegs the staff are working with at any given time. Gus' Beer & Bites Dinner Series is a recurring event that I highly recommend where one brewery is featured at a paired dinner and they'll discuss the brews, techniques and flavors of what you're drinking. The space has 35 different TV screens plus a huge projected screen, so The Pub is a serious contender for game days. If you're a crazy carnivore with an appetite large enough to make a hippo jealous, then go for The Pub Challenge to eat an 8 lb. burger in under 45 minutes. You'll get the burger for free, along with indigestion and bragging rights. Visit The Pub at night on the weekends and odds are you'll find Dueling Pianos and/or karaoke. I may or may not have treated patrons to "The Humpty Dance" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the past.
