Ways To Break A Sweat in Sin City

Alright, even though Vegas has cooled down for the winter, but if you're the kind of person that wants to sweat away the cold, then you'll have countless options for your fitness adventure. After all, we're a city of good-looking, inviting and hospitable people, so our population has a bevy of unique and fun ways to break a sweat in Sin City.

Shine Fitness
Definitely a spot where the locals go to get gorgeous, Shine Alternative Fitness offers unique classes like AntiGravity Fitness and Yoga, Aerial Silks and Hoops, and three levels of Pole Fitness. The facility is rooted in the founders' involvement with performance art and is loved by the Cirque du Soleil artist community, so you know it's going to be both fun and beautiful. More general fitness classes are also offered, like Zumba, Salsa, Ballet, Barre, Flexibility, Strength, Balance, Toning and Xtreme Boxing. Basically, you can never be bored with your workout here.

Yoga With the Dolphins
While it's common for most Vegas hotels to offer yoga classes, or step it up a notch and do poolside yoga, The Mirage goes one step further with its Yoga Among the Dolphins class. Nestled in an underwater viewing room inside Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, this one-of-a-kind yoga class takes you through a 60 minute session with the serene, yet playfully entertaining background of bottlenose dolphins swimming around you. Plus, the cherry on top is the complimentary smoothie you get afterwards.

Pole Dancing Classes
Don't be afraid to get down and dirty when you're looking to sweat it up in Vegas, that's why you're here in the first place. Channel your inner wild side and let loose at one of the many pole dancing fitness classes in the city. There are dozens of places where pole fitness is offered alongside a facilities' regular classes, but a few places also specialize in it. Enter: Pole Fitness Studio. For personal studio use, groups, parties, or one-on-one instruction, Pole Fitness can fit any need and any skill level. Their endless list of classes includes a ton of pole training (from "Flirting" to "Queen" levels) and then more in-depth learnings about spinning, belly-dancing components, splits and choreography. Then on top of all thatthey have a whole other list of non-pole classes like Cabaret, Kickboxing, Candlelight Yoga, Striptease, GoGo, Hip Hop, Lap Dancing, Zumba, Ballet and Salsa. The sexy possibilities are endless. Plus, this is better than hitting the elliptical because the elliptical doesn't give a crap about how you combine your floor routine with your booty skills.

Red Rock Canyon
Venture off of the Strip to get out there and see what makes this valley geographically unique and naturally beautiful. There's no better way than to put on your hiking shoes, a pair of short shorts and some sunscreen to wander around Red Rock Canyon. If it's the middle of summer, I suggest doing your hike from 8 a.m. until noon, or from 3:30 to sunset. Avoid those peak sunny hours if you plan on having a full Vegas night on top of your hiking excursion. Since you're likely a fairly active person for reading about how to work out while on vacation, I have the perfect trail for you. Calico Tanks is moderately difficult and you really get to experience a variety of terrains during the 2 hour hike. Sandstone rock and sandy trails lead up and over some mountainous hills, then to a hidden water pocket leading up to an expansive view of the valley.
