Where Will You Watch The Super Bowl?
A Skybox at the Superdome? That would be the best place anywhere to watch this year’s Super Bowl on Feb. 3. But if you can’t make it there, or another seat inside the Superdome, the second best place in the world has got to be one of the many amazing sportsbooks and sports bars on the Las Vegas Strip.
Since the game will be in the Big Easy, Lagasse Stadium at the Palazzo is an obvious first choice. Chef Emeril’s ultimate sportsbar features stadium-style luxury seating, huge screens, fantastic Cajun/Creole-inspired food (of course) and even special VIP rooms. Yes, you can place wagers here too. The only problem? It’s probably everyone else’s first choice, too. So you might want to consider a few other options…
If bigger is better, then the best has to be The Superbook at LVH (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton). A 16x20 foot main screen, 28 more giant monitors, and another 30 smaller ones overlook 350 seats, including the luxe, smoke-free Ultimate Fan Cave (No girls allowed! Just kidding…). Of course you can wager, and there’s also one of the most reasonably-priced deli counters right there.
Want to go in style? Your two most luxurious sports books on the Strip would be the legendary one at Bellagio and the equally swank Wynn. MGM Grand is another good pick, especially if you want to get a group together in one of their sky boxes.
Are you the short-attention span type? Don’t want to stop playing casino games while you’re watching? Make plans for Caesars Race & Sports Book. It’s not only loaded with huge screens, but is completely open to the Forum Casino floor. A good food court and Gordon Ramsay’s new Pub are just two of the food and drink options steps away. If poker is more your thing, check out the Palms’ Sportsbook, recently redesigned with poker tables right there (but don’t miss that river card!)
Sports Books aren’t the only option, though. If enjoying the game is more important than placing propositions, consider Monte Carlo’s The Pub or Luxor’s Public House. Both have loads of screens and great beer selections along with creative grub. In fact, The Pub has more than a hundred brews on tap (and as many bottles), while Luxor offers big comfortable booths for small groups.
You’ll discover the Casinos will all be throwing special parties as well. One that looks good is at Palazzo’s Lavo (just upstairs from Lagasse Stadium), where you can take in the game on 20 screens and enjoy a full buffet for $125 or open bar alone for $75 for the length of the game. Expect a good looking crowd in this sexy spot.
And if you’re really on a budget, check this out: Slice of Vegas in Mandalay Place, a big open room with comfortable booths and loads of flatscreens, are offering $15 pitchers and $4 pints of PBR as well as other premium cocktails. And get this, Silverton Casino Hotel is throwing a watching party totally free! If you can scrape together $35, you’ll eat and drink all you want for the entire game.
