Halloween Galore Is Headed To Sin City
It's that time of year when the costumed folks in Las Vegas come out in full force and their outfits get even more bizarre, but don't worry, it's just in celebration of one of the best events in town: Halloween.
The Las Vegas Zombie Run
For the athlete in the house that also loves all-things-zombie-related, you have to participate in the Sunday, Oct. 26 Las Vegas Zombie Run. For this fun run, zombies trying to collect flags attached to a belt you’ll be wearing will actually chase you. It’s sort of flag football meets post-apocalyptic zombieland, but you won’t actually get eaten. You have the option to do a 5k or just a simple one-mile, which could leave you breathless from zombie dodging. If you make it to the end of the run with at least one flag on your belt, you’ve survived. No flags, no worries, you just wouldn’t cut it in the post-apocalyptic world of zombie takeover. Tickets are $50 before Oct. 1 or $60 afterward, but 100 percent of proceeds go directly to benefit The Public Education Foundation. So test your zombie vs. man skills and give back to society at the same time.
Fright Dome
It’s back and for those of you that want a good scare from a terrifying Texas Chainsaw Massacre Leatherface or some other frightening unholy concoction from the depths of Hell, well, then, Fright Fest is your cup o’ tea. With 250,000-square-feet of terror, you will definitely lose your voice from screaming and add a few grey hairs to that noggin as well. This high-quality scare fest also has terrifying live shows as well as rides for the kiddos. Tickets start at $34.95 plus tax, but can get up to $89.95 for VIP tickets depending on the night you go. Is it worth it to scare the money out of your wallet for this Halloween? We think so.
Trilogy of Terror
This haunted trio of horrors is everything you hoped it would be and more. There are essentially three-themed experiences including the Circus of Horrors, Castle Vampire and Gates of Hell. Now, the Gates of Hell is the first and only R-Rated, full-contact haunted house in Nevada. Basically this means that you’re going to be running from ghastly creatures like Scorch the Clown as he chases you down to scare the life out of you. This year, the Freakling Bros., which have produced this terrifying trio of frightening obstacles since 2011, have also added The Victim Experience. Not sure what this entails, but when clowns are combined with heart pounding terror and claustrophobic fear, you know it’s going to be nice and scary.
Fetish & Fantasy Ball
Taking things to a whole new level of Halloween craziness is the infamous Fetish & Fantasy Ball. For those that have never been, you’ll become a yearly regular after your first time. For those that are returning, you know what’s in store, as each year gets a little bit wilder. For starters, everyone must have a costume and, no, latex body paint will not be allowed. But everything else you could possibly imagine accept for all-out nudity is acceptable. This is definitely the place where you can get very creative with your costume while taking in all that is around you including live entertainment from fire breathers, trapeze artists, DJs and much more. Zombie Burlesque and Evil Dead: The Musical Shows
If none of the above options look appealing to you or you’d like to amp up your night and really get in the Halloween spirit, then there’s always the good ole’ fashioned Halloween-themed musical. We highly recommend Zombie Burlesque and, for all of you Bruce Campbell fans, you can checkout Evil Dead: The Musical.
Zombie Burlesque is filled with exactly what it sounds like: zombies and burlesque. Think the two can’t be combined and offer entertainment? Well, you’d be dead wrong. Pun intended. The premise for Zombie Burlesque is a post-apocalyptic 1950’s life in which humans are trying to ‘strike’ a deal with the zombies. Trust us, it’s entertaining, surprisingly sexy and hilarious to boot. And then there’s Evil Dead: The Musical… umm, this is a cult classic, so need we say more?
