The Insider: A CES Help Guide to Las Vegas
CES, three little letters that represent one of the best and busiest weeks in Las Vegas is here once again. Between attending the show, meeting after meeting and time being of the essence, we want to give a little insight that may help you getting to and from the convention, grabbing a quick bite if you’re in a hurry, the quintessential spot to close a deal or connect to Wi-Fi.
Getting to the Las Vegas Convention Center:
Las Vegas Monorail. This is the most overlooked yet best option during CES. While it doesn’t exactly traverse the city or get you to and from the airport, it does work in your favor this time and gets you to and from the Convention Center so you are in luck. Hop on at the Harrah’s Imperial Palace Station, Flamingo/Caesars Palace Station, Bally’s/Paris Station or MGM Grand Station. A day pass is $12.00 while single rides cost $5.00.
Taxi: If you are in a hurry this is a great option to get to the Las Vegas Convention Center but fair warning, the lines to leave are intense so you may want to pick up that $5.00 one time ride on the Monorail when it’s time to leave.
Quick Eats:
Down the Street: Rather than spending $10 on a hotdog, bag of chips and a soda, get some real food in you. With so much business from the Convention Center, restaurants are everywhere, with many within a two mile radius. Firefly on Paradise features an amazing tapas menu and sangrias, while Marrakech delights your pallete with classic Moroccan cuisine as well as hookahs to enjoy. For a taste of the orient, Satay Thai Bistro and Bar has some of the best Pad Thai in the city, as well as some killer lunch specials. In the Howard Hughes Corporate Center you'll find a Gordon Beirsch, Bahama Breeze and Mc Cormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant.
Pizza: fast, cheap and delicious. A few spots to remember; The secret pizza shop at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in located between Jaleo and Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill on the Third Floor, D’Amore’s Famous Pizza in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood is healthy and tasty, Pizzeria Francesco’s at Treasure Island Las Vegas is as scrumptious as it gets.
Sandwiches: Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood is cheap and good value, Canter’s Deli at Treasure Island is quick and you can take it to go, ‘wichcraft at MGM Grand is a home run and the Bouchon Bakery stand at The Venetian Las Vegas.
Sitdown: When you are in a rush but have some time to actually sit and digest your meal, consider Burger Bar in The Shops at Mandalay Place, Tacos & Tequila at Luxor Las Vegas, Mr. Lucky’s at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, Grand Lux Café at The Venetian Las Vegas or Palazzo Las Vegas and Carnegie Deli at Mirage Las Vegas.
Business Lunch for Closers:
Spago at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace – Two decades after opening, Wolfgang Puck’s first Las Vegas restaurant is still hands down one of the best lunch spots in Las Vegas and notoriously famous as the Power Lunch destination for movers and shakers.
Estiatorio Milos at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas – There is few things better than lunch on the patio at Milos and besides being a striking place to seal a business deal the three-course lunch menu for $20.12 isn’t too shabby either.
Quick Connect:
Connect to the internet by grabbing a drink at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at either the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, The Venetian Las Vegas and at Palms Las Vegas.
Starbucks at Fashion Show Mall is also a great spot on The Strip to connect to free Wi-Fi.
