Vegas Inducts Bars Into Hall of Fame Status
No matter what type of bar you prefer to frequent, Vegas likely has something to meet your needs. It's a city filled with a bevy of bars -- a blessed thing and a curse all in one. To help you out, Vegas locals got together to narrow down the best five bars in the city and the list is oh so good. The Las Vegas Bar Hall of Fame is crowned by a local, alternative news outlet that received 14,000 votes this year ranking Vegas bars based on five categories. The categories include Classic, Neighborhood, Pioneer, Best Resort/Casino and Specialty. Check out the results and our description of these newly crowned drinking holes. Best Resort/Casino Bar: Foundation Room You can find this Bohemian-inspired gem of a lounge and bar 64 floors up inside of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. A rather intimate and eclectic venue, Foundation Room from the House of Blues offers some of the most phenomenal views of Vegas on their patio. It’s a great place to enjoy a glass of wine while noshing on small plates like Vietnamese Chicken Meatballs and Market Cauliflower Tempura with ponzu sauce. 3950 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas 89119 Best Pioneer Bar: Center Bar at Hard Rock Hotel The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino exudes the rockstar lifestyle and you can get a slice of the action at the center of it all in this bar. Found at the heart of the casino, you can saddle up, order a drink and watch as leather-clad patrons collide with blonde bombshells mingling around the hotel. For the best view, snag a seat near the Hell’s Belles pole dancers that provide an eyeful of entertainment as you sip your cocktail. 4455 Paradise Rd., Las Vegas 89169 Best Classic Bar: Atomic Liquors One of Vegas’ classic bars, Atomic Liquors, is also one of Travel Channel’s 'No Reservations' host Anthony Bourdain's favorite hotspots. The bar recently celebrated 62 years as a venue. It suffered a brief closure during 2011-12 when the bar's owners passed away, but the bar has since reopened and is again booming with business. It’s a great Downtown Vegas dive offering 12 Sierra Nevada brews on tap and many other concoctions to choose from. 917 Fremont St., Las Vegas 89101 Best Specialty Bar: Aces & Ales A relative newcomer to the bar scene, Aces & Ales has already made a name for itself as one of the best specialty bars in town. This bar offers 50 beers on tap with an additional 150 beers in the bottle. Plus, they have great tequila, scotch + whiskey, and specialty cocktails menus as well. The food menu also takes bar fare to a whole new level with items like Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds and Arrogant Bastard Onion Rings – made with Stone Brewing’s Ale of the same name. 3740 S. Nellis Blvd., Las Vegas 89121 Best Neighborhood Bar: Paradise Cantina With tall bar stools, a jukebox, some occasional body shots on the bar and random visits by a Darth Vader or a guy in a KISS costume, this bar offers patrons a slice of local life. It’s a great place to meet new friends who like to have fun, or just watch a game on one of the several TVs located throughout the bar. 4480 Paradise Rd., Las Vegas 89169
